Jolene Blalock Joins Legend of the Seeker

Star Trek: Enterprise star Jolene Blalock has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming second season of the series Legend of the Seeker.
The series is an adaptation of  best-selling author Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth book series.  Blalock, who begins filming in New Zealand this week, will portray a mysterious Sister of the Dark who possesses very powerful magic — she not only threatens Richard’s (Craig Horner) quest to defeat evil forces, but her ultimate goal is to destroy Kahlan (Bridget Regan).
The second season of the series will premiere the weekend of November 7th.  Check your local …read more

Summer Glau Joins Dollhouse Cast

The one nice thing about genre actors is they fit so nicely into multiple projects. Once a Whedonite – always a Whedonite – and this time it’s Firefly’s Summer Glau who’s heading into the Dollhouse.
Summer always seemed like a natural for this series since she does that “blank slate” look so well but obviously her role on Sarah Connor Chronicles kept that from happening. Now, with that series behind her, she is taking on the roll of Bennett a “Dollhouse employee who shares a past with Echo.”
As this story hit the airwaves yesterday, I was surprised to see a lot …read more

Echo (Eliza Dushku) and her new husband (guest star Jamie Bamber from Battlestar Galactica) have a dangerous honeymoon in the Dollhouse season premiere episode “Vows” airing Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Wil Wheaton Talks Leverage, Writing and The Age of the Geek

If anyone in this world can out geek our favorite Leverage geek, it’s gotta be Wil Wheaton. Wil sat down with reporters last week to talk about his role on tonight’s episode of Leverage and he gave us his thoughts on this being, as Hardison says, “the age of the geek, baby.”
CHAOS THEORY
In Leverage, you play a computer hacker called Chaos, this seems like the perfect role for you.
Wil Wheaton: I love my computer. I love the Internet. I would consider myself an early adopter of a lot of the Internet technologies that a lot of people take …read more

Casting Coups: Marsters, Torres and More

I’m sure you’ve already heard about James Marsters joining the cast of Caprica but today I got the official press release and I adore the description of his character.
Marsters will play dangerous terrorist leader Barnabus Greeley. Driven by moralistic and yet carnal desires, this unpredictable villain is constantly torn by his conflicting motivations.
Sounds like a role he was born to play!
It’s funny, years ago, I interviewed James when he was just starting out on Buffy. I asked him what he loved most about playing the role of Spike and he said he loved that he could fight all …read more

Comedian Oswalt to Guest on Caprica

Comedian Oswalt to Guest on Caprica

It seems like an odd casting choice, putting a stand-up comic like Patton Oswalt (seen here on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien) on a dramatic series such as Caprica. But, since he’s playing a comedic talk show host, I guess it all works out fine.
Though not generally known for his genre work, Patton has appeared on Dollhouse and Reaper. It’s more likely that you know him from Reno 911 or as a voice actor from anyone of a dozen popular cartoons and video games.
Caprica, premieres January 22, 2010 on Syfy.
