Talking With Ted Raimi and Keeping Legend Alive

Next week (Feb 20/21), Ted Raimi will be reprising his role as a magic peddler on the Legend of the Seeker episode titled “Hunger.” But before that happens, I’ll have him on the phone to talk about his role on the show, his time on Supernatural and anything else you want to know.

Leave your questions for Ted Raimi right here and I’ll do my best to get them answered. I’m on the phone first thing tomorrow morning, so hurry.

ABC Studios is in the process of reviewing whether or not to renew Legend of the Seeker for a third season. Many fans are contacting ABC Studios and their local affiliates to let them know how much we all enjoy this show. If you’d like to help out the details on how to do that are listed here.

I personally haven’t heard anything about potential cancellation, but it never hurts to let a network know how you feel about your favorite shows, so why not join in the fight to keep Legend alive.

Michael Shanks is Hawkman on Smallville

Stargate star Michael Shanks is working on a legend of a different kind when he steps out as Hawkman on Smallville tonight. Michael is just one part of the huge “Absolute Justice” episode which will fill the whole two-hour CW block. He’ll be accompanied by Stargirl (Britt Irvin), Doctor Fate (Brett Stait) and a few other comic book legends whose identities are being kept underwraps.

Watch for sparks to fly between Hawkman and resident costumed hero Green Arrow – and no, ladies, I don’t mean those kind of sparks. Though Justin Hartley was quoted in TVGuide as saying “Hawkman kind of has his way with him and Oliver is not going to let that go too easily.”

If you haven’t been watching, now’s the time to catch up with Smallville. It begins at 8:00 tonight, Friday, February 5 on The CW.

Jolene Blalock Joins Legend of the Seeker

You may know her at T’Pol from Star Trek: Enterprise, but this week, Jolene Blalock dons a new mantle, literally, when she takes on the role of Sister Nicci in Legend of the Seeker.

“What drew me to the role, were the seeds of doubt which gave us a lot of ways to move” said Jolene on a call with reporters. “She’s not inherently good or inherently bad, she’s just blinded by the passion of her own good intentions.”

And you know what they say about good intentions.

Going from a cult favorite scifi show to a cult favorite fantasy show is just fine with Jolene. “Scifi / fantasy is very special to my heart. I grew up with the original Star Trek and I used to watch the Star Wars Trilogy [over and over again when I was a kid.]” What she likes best about the genre is that it takes “humanity outside of itself. It presents the what if. . . ”

Jolene’s first episode runs the week of January 23 and it’s called “Dark.”

As the Sisters of the Light train Richard (Craig Horner) to use his wizard power, the beautiful and mysterious Sister Nicci (Guest Star Jolene Blalock) reveals a shocking secret forcing him into a dark alliance; in Richard’s absence, Zedd (Bruce Spence) has no choice but to name a new Seeker.

Then, on January 30th, Jolene returns in “Perdition.”

Trapped in the deadly Valley of Perdition, Richard’s (Craig Horner) worst fears come magically to life and threaten to kill him, while the world’s most powerful sorceress, Sister Nicci (Guest Star Jolene Blalock), plots to murder Kahlan (Bridget Regan); Cara’s (Tabrett Bethell) feelings for the new Seeker deepen.

Later in the season, look for an appearance by Keisha Castle-Hughes who played Queen of Naboo in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Legend of the Seeker is syndicated so look for it on your local TV stations on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

Elisabeth Harnois Stars in New Medical Series

Admittedly, a bit of a stretch, but I wanted to share this great new photo of Elisabeth Harnois from her new series Miami Medical (formerly Miami Trauma.) Elisabeth was the star of the freaky deeky series Point Pleasant, which I recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

I had the pleasure of working with her when she starred in Ten Inch Hero with Jensen Ackles and Danneel Harris a few years back and she really is a lovely person.

The series, which will premiere sometime this spring on CBS also stars Mike Vogel from Cloverfield, Omar Gooding and Lana Parrilla of Lost.

I’m not a big fan of medical shows, but hopefully, she’ll fair better in this than Alex O’Loughlin did in Three Rivers.

It’s X-Files Marks the Spot in an Upcoming Bones

X-Files star Dean Haglund guests on an upcoming Bones episodes called “The X in the File.” Guess they’re not going to miss a single opportunity to pay tribute to the old series as Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth’s (David Boreanaz) investigation of a death in the desert near Roswell, NM.

Haglund plays Blaine Miller, the owner of a diner who might have a clue to the mystery.

The episode was scheduled to air January 14, but Fox looks like they’re still doing some shuffling, so that date may change.

Tonight: Dollhouse Returns

Dollhouse returns tonight with a huge 2-hour episode that is overflowing with great guest stars including Summer Glau, Alexis Denisof, Ray Wise and Keith Carradine.

It’s called “The Public Eye (Part 1 of 2) / The Left Hand (Part 2 of 2)” and you’ll see both parts tonight, December 4, starting at 8:00 on Fox.

Echo is sent to stop Senator Daniel Perrin (guest star Alexis Denisof) before he can expose the Dollhouse’s secrets, and Adelle and Topher travel to the Washington, D.C. Dollhouse to meet its genius programmer, Bennett Halverson (guest star Glau), a woman with a mysterious past connection to Echo.

In the second hour, Echo and Bennett have a shocking meeting as Adelle goes head-to-head with the ruthless head of the Washington, D.C. Dollhouse (guest star Ray Wise). Meanwhile, Topher sees double when he involves Victor in his espionage, and Perrin finds a surprising witness to testify against the Rossum Corporation.

Aimee Teegarden Guest Stars on Legend of the Seeker

I particularly wanted to share this photo. When I glanced at it at first, I thought Kahlan had wings!

Supernatural: Abandon All Hope First Look

There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is we have a first look video for this week’s episode of Supernatural called “Abandon All Hope. ” There’s more good news in that it stars Mark Sheppard as the deliciously evil Crowley. That’s not Mark in the photo there. He wasn’t in any of the promo photos for this episode but Dean’s looking right at him, so that’s something. . . huh?

You may know Mark from his recurring role as Sterling, Nate’s biggest foil on Leverage, which is already a six-degrees-of-Supernatural because of Aldis Hodge and Chris Kane. Mark also played Romo Lampkin on Battlestar Galactica and we love, love, love seeing him on TV.

Now for the bad news: this will be the last new episode of Supernatural until January 14 2010. It’s true. Got it straight from The CW and I’m not happy about it either. We usually get one or two new episodes between now and the holiday break but I guess since they premiered the show so early this year, they have no choice but to break early.

Forget the bad news for now and enjoy this clip from Supernatural: Abandon All Hope which comes to you from The CW.
