Guy Williams Saves the Day as Zorro!

If I were to compile a list of my favorite TV dads, John Robinson of Lost in Space would be high on my list. He was strong, brave, understanding and he did all he could to raise his children right. Manners are important, even if there is a two-headed swamp monster headed for the ship, you don’t interrupt mommy and daddy when they’re talking.
When it came to playing John Robinson, the fatherly part was new for actor Guy Williams, but the strong and brave part was a no brainer as he had spent two years portraying that swashbuckling, western hero, …read more

If you’ve been reading this blog awhile, you know I am a huge fan of Irwin Allen, the 60’s guru of scifi TV and the 70’s Master of Disaster. But as much as I love Irwin, my husband worships at the shrine. Today, Warner Archives announced that they are releasing a rare Irwin Allen gem on DVD. So here’s my husband, Lars, to tell you all about it.

Bring Back the Memories with Classic Who on DVD
September 5, 2009 by Cynthia
Who do you think of when I say Doctor Who? David Tennant? Christopher Eccleston? If you’d asked me that a few years ago, I would have said Tom Baker. For years, he was the face of Doctor Who, rattling around in a cardboard set in grainy episodes airing on my local PBS station. There was a simple charm to the series that allowed you to turn a blind eye to the flaws. With top notch British actors and creative scripts, these early episodes captivated audiences of all ages and certainly influenced the current era of scifi storytellers.
I got to revisit …read more
Catching Up with Fringe
Let’s talk Fringe, shall we. First off, love this new promo poster art. Very nice. Yesterday, the Fringe cast and crew had a press party in Vancouver to celebrate the upcoming DVD release and the new season. You can read all about it at TV Squad. Sounds like it was quite a to-do with a dual worlds theme that included twin waiters and black and white rooms.
Fringe: The Complete First Season hits stores on September 8 and it has a ton of great special features including production diaries and even an homage to Gene the cow.
Have you signed up for …read more
Supernatural S4 DVD, Bonus and Free Preview
August 31, 2009 by Cynthia
Tomorrow, Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season comes out on DVD and Blu-ray. I already have my copy and it’s great to see the show without all those CW crawls all over the bottom but I’m not so happy about the packaging and the special features. You can read my full review at DVD Verdict tomorrow, along with the Blu-ray review by one of my cohorts, David Johnson. David jokes that he may be the only male fan that follows the show but I heard there were three others at the convention in Vancouver this past weekend.
