According to this new trailer for Stargate Universe, this is a darker, sexier Stargate but is that something anyone ever asked for? Usually, I’m on board with dark and sexy, but I’m not ready to give up the lighthearted banter of Atlantis. Listening to Beckett and Sheppard verbally battle was the highlight of my Friday night.

The trailer also says it’s a story of hope. In my experience, that means that the majority of the story will be devoted to death and destruction. I don’t want hope, I want triumph. I want the good guys to win.

And can we talk about Lou Diamond Philips hanging in the jungle with Spencer and Heidi on the I’m a Celebrity. . Get Me Out of Here? Sorry, but his credibility as an actor is dropping faster than Sacha Baron Cohen in angel wings.

How many ways can a trailer be cut? Apparently, quite a few as each one of these Star Trek trailers gives us something just a tad different than the others. I will say that each one gets me more and more excited about this movie, much more than the trailers for the new Terminator flick. This just feels like it will be a fun ride.

Warner Brothers has released a big, new trailer for Terminator Salvation which hits theaters May 21.

Since the entire franchise is built around a time travel loop, it’s hard to say if this is a prequel, sequel or parallel pic! What I can tell you is that it’s huge. The scope of this film is unlike any that have gone before, mostly due to the fact that it’s set in post-apocalyptic 2018. John Connor (Christian Bale) is all grown up now and he’s leading the human resistance against Skynet.

I’m going out on a limb here now and saying, I’m not sure I’m going to like this one. From a production standpoint it’s obviously superior, but I’m concerned that the attention to the special effects (the Terminators, the war, the whole new world) will take away from the humanity that was such a big part of the original movies. To me, the whole reason Terminator works is because no matter how sophisticated you make a machine, it’s still a machine. That gap between the metal and the skin (as they say on Sarah Connor) really delivered both emotionally and comically in the originals and I’m worried that we won’t get that from this movie.

Set in 1957, Alien Trespass chronicles a fiery object from space that crashes into a mountaintop in the California desert, bringing the threat of disaster to Earth. Out of the flying saucer escapes a murderous creature – the Ghota, which is bent on destroying all life forms on the planet. A benevolent alien from the spaceship, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) – a local astronomer – and with the help of Tammy, (Jenni Baird) a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind.

Harrison Ford stars as a blade runner called out of retirement to track down a group of rogue “replicants” that are hiding out in the city. The movie is masterfully directed by Ridley Scott, but it’s the overall look of the film that will blow you away.
