Defying Gravity: The Season Finale?
September 14, 2009 by Cynthia
I know TV seasons are getting shorter but eight episodes do not a season make. Still, ABC slapped the season finale label on last night’s episode of Defying Gravity, despite the fact that there should be thirteen episodes in the run.
That label, coupled with the fact that the show has been pulled off the TV schedule, indicates cancellation, but Futon Critic says it isn’t so – sort of. According to them, a rep for the ABC series denied the cancelation, saying Defying Gravity was always due to go off the air this week to make room for the new season …read more
Defying Gravity: Fear
It’s Halloween and for the crew of the Antares that means more tricks than treats as their hallucinations become more realistic and more frequent. Bad news for Mission Control, as they’re hoping to get a ten million dollar payoff from a candy company for producing the first commercial from outer space.
Tonight on Defying Gravity: Bacon
Last week’s episode didn’t do anything for me but this one looks like it’s going to be grabber. Are you still watching?

Defying Gravity: Rubicon
Air Date: August 23 at 10:00 on ABC
It’s a humbling moment for the crew of the spaceship, as each of them deals with a personal point of no return, while the Antares itself crosses a critical boundary when going back to Earth is no longer an option, and the home planet becomes just another twinkling light in a vast canopy of stars.
Last week’s episode made me a real fan of the show. Still not loving so many flashbacks, but I thought the episode was well plotted and I was surprised to find that the cause of all their …read more

Defying Gravity: Pilot Review
August 4, 2009 by Cynthia
On Defying Gravity, Paula Morales wanders throughout the space ship with her video camera explaining everything she sees in that voice that adults use when talking to children. Good thing there’s a thirty-second delay on the live broadcast because I have a feeling this is going to get ugly.
ABC’s newest space opera was more entertaining than I thought it would be, but mostly that was because I had the advantage of being able to fast-forward through the slow parts — of which there were plenty.
Defying Gravity Begins Tonight

ABC’s Defying Gravity premieres tonight with a two-hour episode beginning at 9:00. It’s been referred to as Grey’s Anatomy in space, but recent reviews aren’t all bad. The LA Times says it has a “shaky but promising start,” but Alan Sepinwall calls it “cheap, disposable, summer programming.” Check it out and let us know what you think of this new sci fi show.
The series boasts a large international cast of faces you’ve seen before but probably can’t name including Blood Ties’ Christina Cox, Andrew Airlie from Reaper, Zahf Paroo of Battlestar Galactica and Malik Yoba from New York Undercover. …read more
ABC is Defying Gravity
July 19, 2009 by Cynthia
According to ABC, Defying Gravity is a sexy, provocative space thriller in which eight astronauts from five countries (four women and four men) undertake a mysterious six-year international space mission that takes them billions of miles away from Earth.
On the surface, this Canadian made series sounds like the recently burned off Virtuality but don’t get your hopes up. This one has been called Grey’s Anatomy in space and that can’t be a good sign.
