With the switch rapidly approaching, the channel formerly known as Syfy has released a charming new promo video that is meant to capture the feel of the new brand.

I’ve always enjoyed SCI FI’s imaginative ads, seeing people and things transform right before your very eyes. This new promo takes it even one step further as some of the network’s stars come out to party in a truly magical castle.

The biggest difference I see between this new promo and the old ones, is the warmth and happy tone. The original ads were cool but always very sterile and simple — truly capturing the feel of modern science fiction. This new ad is full of warm colors and detailed images that are constantly changing and moving. It feels more modern fairy tale and less a trip into space and you gotta love the Escher homage with the cast of Warehouse 13.

It’s all very SteamPunk meets Alice in Wonderland and I can totally get behind that. Click here to watch the House of Imagination video at the new Syfy.com.

Summer is the perfect time for grilling, getting together with the gang and ghost hunting!

Ghost Hunters International is back with all new episodes starting July 8 with a trip to an 18th century prison in Wicklow, Ireland.

The website for the site calls it an exhibit in crime, cruelty and misery — one of the most haunted places in Ireland.  Right next to a link that says it’s a great place for children’s birthday parties! Sounds like my kind of place.

After experiencing all Wicklow has to offer, they’ll be on their way to Chili, Ireland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and Argentina. Just don’t get too attached to these globe-trotting ghost getters, because there are only six new episodes this season.

This time around Robb Demarest and Dustin Pari will be joined by two returning vets and two new hunters. Here’s the lowdown on the team from SCI FI Channel.

Essex County Sanatorium & Hospital / Newark, NJ

Join the TAPS team as they travel to they travel to Newark, NJ to investigate the Essex County Sanatorium and Hospital. After a century of use the psychiatric facility and hospital was abandoned in the 1990’s, and many wonder if the spirits of forgotten patients still roam the labyrinth of underground tunnels connecting the buildings. The highest level of activity has been reported in Building 11, which simultaneously housed the morgue and the criminally insane. Witnesses have reported seeing an apparition dressed in a nurse uniform roaming the halls and have reported hearing screams, bangs and direct threats to get off the property.

SCI FI Channel is planning a summertime bash that you won’t want to miss. It all begins on Memorial Day with a Land of the Lost Marathon! “Marshall, Will and Holly, on a routine expedition. . ” sing along. . . you know you want to! Sure it’s tied to the big screen remake starring Will Ferrell, Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) and Danny McBride but that doesn’t make me love Cha-ka any less

Next, on July 7, it’s the premiere of their new series Warehouse 13.

Two Secret Service agents find themselves abruptly transferred to a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota which houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government. The Warehouse’s caretaker Artie (Saul Rubinek) charges Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse itself. CCH Pounder guest-stars as Artie’s boss Mrs. Federic, along with Allison Scagliotti as Claudia Donovan, a young, hip, brilliant techno-wiz.

Ghost Hunters: Crossing Over

Air Date: April 22 on SCI FI

The team heads to the Spalding Inn in Whitefield, New Hampshire where Jason and Grant  enlist the crew from Ghost Hunters International to investigate unexplained activity on their newly purchased property. Built in the 1800s the main inn includes twenty-four guest rooms and several reports of a full body shadow apparition entering the empty rooms. There have also been sightings of an apparition of a child running down the hallways, and people on the grounds have looked back toward the inn and reported seeing a figure watching them from the windows.

Ghost Hunters is heading for their mid-season finale and they have some of their best investigations still on tap — or should that be TAPS.

Tonight, it’s “Titanic Terror”

On this 97th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Jason and Grant are on the case, as TAPS family members in Atlanta, GA, call them in to confirm their findings at the Georgia Aquarium. Artifacts from the world famous Titanic are on display there, and staff is being harassed by…something. Everywhere the exhibit has gone, stories of paranormal activity have followed. Local TAPS family members need Jason and Grant to confirm whether this exhibit has simply been pulled up from the deep, or if it is deeply connected to those many souls lost at sea.

Next week, on April 22, the Ghost Hunters will get a little help from their International counterpart.

Jason and Grant, the Ghost Hunters, are back for a fifth season on SCI FI Channel.  It all begins tonight with two chilling cases in Pennsylvania.

First up, the boys visit Betsy Ross House in center city Philadelphia. The former home of the famed flag seamstress is said to be haunted because Ross’s remains were allegedly buried inside the home. Vistors have claimed to hear voices and they’ve felt “paranormal sensations” when visiting the historical home.

Later the gang travels to Glen Mills, PA to investigate Hannum House.  One of America’s oldest homes, the house is 313 years old and has only housed 6 different families. A rich history of horrific events have taken place on the grounds of this home, including the gruesome hanging of a man on the front lawn. The family currently residing in the home is concerned that they might not be the only ones living there. Since moving into their home, they have heard bloodcurdling screams, witnessed frightening apparitions, and have heard the voices of young children pitter-pattering around the home.

It’s going to be another spooky season and maybe this time they’ll catch that ghost on film! It all starts tonight at 9:00 on SCI FI.

It’s that time of year again.  Time for all you ghostbusters to get out your gear and join SCI FI Channel’s 31 Days Of Halloween celebration

For the third year in a row, they’ll be presenting Ghost Hunters Live on Halloween night.

This year’s event will take place at the historic Fort Delaware in Delaware City, DE from 7pm-2am. Built in the mid-1800’s and primarily used as an artillery defense for the Union during the Civil War, it eventually became a Civil War POW camp, housing over 33,000 Confederate soldiers. The conditions at Fort Delaware were grim, and over the years, it eventually became home to thousands of deaths. After capturing a variety of paranormal encounters during this first investigation, the team eagerly returns to Delaware this Halloween to explore this historic haunt!

Candidates must be a professional full- or part-time ghost hunter, medium or paranormal researcher. Must be outgoing, enthusiastic, enjoy long walks in spooky places and you can’t be afraid of the dark (let’s me out.)
