TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello keeps the Smallville scoop coming. He’s now reporting that Battlestar Galactica alum Sam Witwer, better known as Alex “Crashdown” Quartararo is joining the Season Eight cast of Smallville.

Joyous news for Smallville fans as TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello confirms beloved actress Alison Mack will return for an eighth season. Contract details are being kept mum, but it’s believed the new deal calls for Mack’s Chloe Sullivan to appear in all episodes next year.

No, Smallville hasn’t been canceled, but it looks like they’ll be going on without Lex, Lana and the two men who were the heart and soul of the series. TVGuide broke the news this morning that creators and executive producers, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are leaving Smallville.
