Fall 09 Scifi Report Card: Part 1
November 16, 2009 by Cynthia
The first quarter of the new TV season is coming to a close. With their biggest episodes running this month for sweeps, we can now look forward to weeks of reruns for the rest of 09.
But before they go, here’s a quick look at where I stand with the current crop of futuristic, non-realistic, ghostly, ghastly, makes-you-wonder, shows on TV.
V: The Series
We’re only a few episodes in but I’m into V for the long haul (which means waiting until Spring of 2010 for the second half of the season.) I’m enjoying the pace of the reveals, I like the characters …read more

The West is about to get a whole lot wilder.
Warehouse 13’s Eddie McClintock dons Ghost Hunters gear for a special TAPS investigation. Today, the team tackles the haunted gravesite of the legendary Buffalo Bill.
Violent, invisible forces are believed to haunt the area. The mysterious specter of a cowboy has been spotted in the neighboring museum. Spooky whispers echo through the building’s empty halls.
Could TAPS have a close encounter with our nation’s greatest showman? Or will they run into more hostile spirits?

Tonight on Warehouse 13: Nevermore
September 15, 2009 by Cynthia
I’m not sure what to make of last week’s episode of Warehouse 13. Breakout felt like two very different episodes sewn together. On the serious side, we had Artie delving into the clandestine world of the Warehouse higher ups. That left me confused and frankly, bored. Back at the Warehouse, Claudia’s need to do it herself caused a huge malfunction which nearly destroyed the warehouse from within. I did enjoy seeing Myka and Pete battle dodge balls and take on the dark vault in an effort to set things right again.
Tonight’s episode sounds like it belongs in the dark vault …read more

Warehouse 13: Duped Review
August 26, 2009 by Cynthia
New TV shows often falter out of the gate as they try to find a rhythm that works. Warehouse 13 has found theirs and it’s a jazzy, off-beat rhythm with a note of humor that runs throughout. I say Duped was their best episode to date owing to two big factors; Joanne Kelly’s dual performance and the style of new director Michael Watkins.
When I say Michael Watkins is new, I only mean to this series. He’s a long-time TV director and producer whose credits include Smallville and X-Files. Last night’s episode had a glitzy, artsy style that worked so perfectly …read more

Warehouse 13 Gets a Second Season
Mid-way into their first season, Warehouse 13 is turning out to be the highest-rated and most-watched first season ever for a Syfy original series, even topping Battlestar Galactica’s 2.4 Household rating and 2.86 million total viewer averages.
It’s these fine marks that have earned the series a second season on Syfy and that’s great news. While many critics point out issues with the weekly “cursed object” storylines, no one finds fault with the characters and the relationships between them. There’s a chemistry between Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly that gets warmer every week. McClintock’s Pete provides the banter while Kelly’s Myka …read more
