Battlestar Outs Two Characters in Webisode
December 11, 2008 by brian
If you’re jonesing for more Battlestar Galactica (and who isn’t?) a 10-webisode story arc kicks off this Friday at the Sci Fi Channel site. The 3-4 minute bites of BSG, called Face of the Enemy run from Dec.12 - Jan.12.
Sci Fi Channel explains the webisodes are about the passengers on a stranded Raptor who start dying one by one, revealing that there’s a killer in their midst. But much of the talk right now is about a same-sex relationship revealed in the first webisode. Stop reading right now if you don’t want to hear anymore…
Own a Piece of the Galactica In Auction
November 7, 2008 by brian
In this day and age, no significant show goes off the air without auctioning off several goodies for the collectors. Acclaimed genre show Battlestar Galactica is no exception.
NBC Universal (SCI FI Channel’s parent company) and Propworx are joining for an auction that will benefit the United Way. Items up for bid include Saul Tigh’s eye patch and liquor bottle, and Caprica Six’s sexy red dress. Uh-huh, yeah.

Battlestar Galactica Sets Return Date

EW’s Michael Ausiello tells us his exclusive SCI FI Channel sources tell him BSG’s final season resumes January 16. He extrapolates that should place the series finale on March 20.
Gee, I’m not sure knowing how long the wait is going to be will make it any easier. On the other hand, knowing there’s only 11 episodes left makes me a sad panda. I’m pretty confident they’ll go out with a bang, though. And if the finale from the first half of this season is any indication, parts of Earth already went out with a bang.

New BSG Trailer: You Are The Fifth
October 2, 2008 by brian
Curse you, SCI FI Channel and your “less is more” strategy. This only runs a few scant seconds but it’s enough to pique our interest for the second half of Battlestar Galactica’s final season. Col. Tigh has found the Fifth Cylon. Who do you think he’s talking to here?
Galactica TV Movie Slated for 2009
It’s going to be sad to see Battlestar Galactica go, even knowing that prequel series Caprica is on the way. Sci Fi Channel has announced they’re cushioning the blow a little bit with a prequel movie. No, not a prequel that goes back quite as far as Caprica, some 50 years before the BSG we know and love.
This prequel goes only a little bit before the series focusing on three characters: Cylon One (Cavil), Chief Galen Tyrol and Samuel T. Anders. Viewers will get to cast some knowing glances at the screen as these characters don’t know they’re Cylons yet. Galactica fandom is still buzzing about the final episode of the third season in which Tyrol and Anders discovered their true natures.
The movie will air sometime after the series’ final episode, which we still can’t pinpoint any closer than “sometime in 2009.” If there’s one thing Galactica is famous for, it’s building up anticipation.

Second Half of Battlestar Season Extended
June 17, 2008 by brian
The Chicago Tribune reports that the remainder of BSG’s season will be 11 hours long, instead of the 10 initially expected. And the final episode will run three hours, apparently. All Sci Fi Channel will say is that the final episode will extend past the allotted time.
The Trib also cites “well-informed sources” saying there will be a BSG TV movie. That’s expected to air on Sci Fi before a release on DVD, as they did with the Razor movie.
As for when the best show on television returns. It seems the wait will extend into 2009. Both co-creator Ron Moore and Sci Fi’s president have gone on record saying 2009, so we are in for a lengthy wait. Sorry, gang.

Battlestar Galactica Midseason Finale
June 16, 2008 by brian
Oh BSG, you know how to tease us. The bet was that we’d find out either the identity of the Final Cylon or the location of Earth by the end of this last episode until - we’re not sure when. Spoilerish stuff after the jump…

Guess What’s Coming To Dinner
I really thought BSG amped it up this week after some kind of slow episodes. And I’m sure I’m not the first to compliment Gaeta on his excellent singing voice.
Spoilers after the jump…

Battlestar Galactica Recap 4-6

Faith
We are at 39,675. You know maybe humanity should start a few more of those love cults like Gaius Baltar has going.
Hey, a Nana Visitor sighting! Good to see you, girl. I don’t know whether to be sadder that her character is dying of cancer or that she’s drinking the Baltar Kool-Aid. Roslin tries to shut off the patient’s radio and she freaks out.

The Road Less Traveled
Humanity is at 39,676. Big shock, the crew of the Demetrius has reached the boiling point as Starbuck can offer them nothing but paintings of the solar system.
Helo wants to be a good XO, but Starbuck’s seeming insanity makes that impossible. After being ordered to jump to the same place for a third time, he’s finally had enough. To complicate things, they find a damaged Raider with Kara’s good friend Leoben aboard.
