Kripke Donates Rare Supernatural Gift to Help Haiti

Supernatural fans are excited about the show’s return to new episodes tonight and a few more things. First, here’s a nice sneak peek photo from LittleMissX. (Click the pic to see the full photo with a slight spoiler.)

Also, my friend Danielle Turchiano gave me permission to share this post with you in regard to Supernatural charity auction which begins tonight.

Says Danielle:

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke approached SupportSupernatural.com with an amazing opportunity, very generously donating the pair of Waterford Crystal commemorative flutes that he received when Supernatural was nominated for a 2010 People’s Choice Award (which the show subsequently won). The flutes are one of a kind and cannot be purchased. The pair of flutes come with a letter written to the cast of Supernatural and each stem has an etching on it. One is etched with “People’s Choice Awards 2010 Nominee” and the other is etched with “Supernatural.”

The cast and crew of Supernatural hope that the exclusivity of this item will help raise a significant amount of money for the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund (CBHF).

At the request of the show, the eBay auction will begin TONIGHT at 9pm eastern on January 21, in sync with the mid-season premiere of Supernatural (episode #5.11, “Sam, Interrupted”). Please visit SupportSupernatural.com at that time for the link to the auction.

Gillian Anderson and Frank Spotnitz Celebrate “The X-Files” for Charity

If you’re an X-Files fan, you’ll want to make your way to Los Angeles this November for a special charity event featuring Gillian Anderson (seen here at the recent “The Age of Stupid” event in NY) and executive producer and writer Frank Spotnitz.

The event, which is being run by IBG.Inc. will feature a moderated Q&A panel with Frank Spotnitz, Gillian Anderson and other TBA members of “The X-Files” team*.

A limited number of VIP tickets, available for $125, can be purchased here beginning September 22, 2009: http://www.ibginc.org/tickets

VIP tickets to the event grant the holder front section seating, in-person autograph with participating panelists and admission to the VIP party (please note that panelists are invited, but not obligated/guaranteed to attend the VIP party).

In addition, “Meet and Greets” with Gillian Anderson will be auctioned on eBay with registration beginning September 22, 2009. “Meet and Greets” with Frank Spotnitz and TBA panelists will also be available for auction in the coming weeks.

Star Wars Charity Auction Aids Bushfire Victims

Like many Australians, Star Wars tie-in novelist Karen Miller was stunned by the recent bushfires in Victoria that was labeled the worst natural disaster in the history of the country; 2,000 homes destroyed, 7,000 left homeless, at least 200 dead. Now it’s recovery time and that means money — money enough so that entire towns can be rebuilt. That’s where you come in.

We all know the power of fandom – this time we’re going to use it, not to save a TV show but to save lives.

Karen and dozens of other Star Wars fans have gathered together for a charity auction that’s sure to delight any fan of the films. Autographed photos, manuscripts, art prints and rare novels are all up for grabs. But my favorite item is the one Karen donated — a character named after you in her next Star Wars novel. Galactica Scripts & More at Charity Auction

Grunberg Asks You to Join His Team

Heroes star Greg Grunberg wants you to join his team! They’re called The Crazy Brainwaves and they’ll be Walking for Epilepsy in March 2008.

Greg is the new spokesperson for the National Walk for Epilepsy and he needs your support. Here’s what he has to say:

HI, IT’S GREG GRUNBERG. JOIN MY TEAM, “THE CRAZY BRAINWAVES,” AS WE WALK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AWARENESS AND FOR A CURE DURING THE NATIONAL WALK FOR EPILEPSY IN WASHINGTON, DC.

Please help me and my family walk toward the day when epilepsy is finally cured. As the father of a child with epilepsy, I know how much the condition can impact a family. My goal is to help bring about a day when no one has to lose another moment to seizures.

Let’s walk on the National Mall in Washington, DC on March 29, 2008, or virtually online, to show support for everyone who copes with this heart-wrenching condition every day. We need to show the more than 3 million Americans living with epilepsy that we want to help make a difference in their lives.
