Supernatural, Smallville: All Signs Point to Yes

**It’s now official!!!**
A number of sources are reporting that The CW started their day making phone calls to discuss renewals with the executives of their top shows. Supernatural and Smallville both made the cut, one more expected than the other.
Smallville nearly went away last year but a major turn around in the story line has breathed new life into the waning series.  But would Tom Welling sign on for yet another year as the boy-turned-man of steel? The answer appears to be yes, though I imagine his contract came with a very large number in the salary space.

Reaper Returns Two Weeks Early

After spending the first 20 years of his life playing video games and hanging with his buddies, Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison) embarked on an exciting career as part of the Work Bench customer service team. But on his 21st birthday, Sam was told it was time he joined the family business — the business of hunting down escaped souls and sending them back to hell where they belong.
If you’re thinking Sam and Dean Winchester, think again.  Sam Oliver works for the devil himself (Ray Wise) thanks to a deal made by his parents, who may not be his real parents …read more

Tonight on Smallville: Bulletproof

Smallville Episode 8.12 Bulletproof
Air Date: January 22, 2009
I think more than anything that has happened on Smallville, I’m shocked they’ve been on eight seasons and haven’t had an episode called Bulletproof already.
In Bulletproof, John Jones/Martian Manhunter gets shot and somebody’s trying to pin the blame on Clark. That’s not good. Also tonight we’re going to see good girls gone bad and bad girls, well still being bad.
Lana Lang has been MIA for months and Ollie Queen ran into her while they were both tracking down Lex. Boy, does anybody remember Lana being the innocent girl next door? Would not have …read more

TV Guide Drops CW From Its Listings

TV Guide Drops CW From Its Listings

Supernatural fans, don’t check TV Guide to find out when your show is coming on. Same goes for Smallville fans, as the long running magazine has decided to take The CW Network completely out of its TV listings.
TV Guide said there wasn’t room for CW or MTV in the listings, but for some reason still displays Ion and MyNetwork. That’s interesting. The only show I watch on MyNetwork is WWE Smackdown and I couldn’t even tell you if Ion is available in my area. Something tells me there’s a lot more to this story than TV Guide is letting …read more

Jericho Reruns Coming to CW Network

Jericho Reruns Coming to CW Network

Jericho is coming to back to TV -  in a way, at least. CW today announced it will air reruns of cult favorite Jericho on its Sunday night schedule. This ends an interesting experiment for CW that saw it outsourcing its Sunday night lineup to Media Rights Capital.
That lineup included the drama Easy Money and sitcom Surviving Suburbia and today’s announcement confirms those shows didn’t work. Joining Jericho on the new (or should that be old?) Sunday night CW lineup are reruns of The Drew Carey Show and theatrical movies. The change becomes effective Nov. 30.
The good news here …read more

CW Clips Robin Prequel’s Wings

CW Clips Robin Prequel’s Wings

The much debated and almost universally panned idea for The Graysons, a prequel show about a young Robin, will not come to CW airwaves after all. The L.A Times’ Hero Complex blog said the project is dead in the water.
The Graysons would have been a Smallville-style show about the adventures of young Dick “DJ” Grayson, who will one day grow up to be Batman’s sidekick. It was slated to be used as either a companion show to or replacement for Smallville depending on how this season shakes out.
Ordinarily I’m in favor of any comic-based TV projects, but everybody from critics …read more

Ackles, Padalecki Top Sexiest Stars List

A recent poll by TV Guide confirmed what many of our readers have been telling us for years: Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are two of TV’s sexiest stars.
The Supernatural superstars are Nos. 1 and 2 respectively on that site’s list of the sexiest stars in Sci-Fi. CW, not surprisingly came out very well on that list as just behind our favorite duo are Smallville’s Tom Welling and Allison Mack. The list wasn’t all recent favorites as cerebral sex symbols David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson of the X-Files also made the cut.
But back to Jensen and Jared. TV Guide …read more

CW May Be Interested In Moonlight

CW May Be Interested In Moonlight

Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily says there is “a chance, only a chance,” that freshly canceled vampire drama Moonlight could reappear on the CW. Apparently this eleventh-hour reprieve was so sudden the staff has stopped tearing down the sets.
With Smallville listing badly, the CW could use the instant boost Moonlight would provide. It would almost certainly be the new number one show on the network. Of course I should caution that the first speculation after a show is canceled is usually that “CW might pick it up.” I’m waiting for the scuttlebutt that they might recover Back to You …read more

Keep Chewing and Watching with Smallville

Smallville fans have a chance to determine the outcome of their own digital comic in a contest brought to you by Warner Bros. Television, the CW Network and Stride Gum.
The show’s writers have developed the comic’s beginning and end while contest participants decide what happens in the middle. Both the comic and this week’s episode of Smallville revolve around the return of Pete Ross, who has gained elastic powers after eating some kryptonite-infused Stride Gum.(We couldn’t make this stuff up, folks.) Fans can go to The CW site and read the opening pages of this comic, after which they’ll …read more
