Eureka Getting Best Ratings Ever
September 29, 2008 by brian
Boy, Eva Thorne really is - or was, The Fixer. After a second season that some of the show’s longtime viewers felt veered too far into “doom and gloom” territory, Eureka got back to its lighthearted center. That apparently struck a ratings chord as the first half of Eureka’s third season drew its best season average to date.
The main story arc in this part of the season was Frances Fisher’s Fixer character concealing a dark secret. Her character was contrasted by lots of slapstick fun including a plot about a robotic dog show. At the end of her …read more
Eureka Recap:Here Come The Suns
September 17, 2008 by brian
An eclectic field of political candidates is on hand for Eureka’s mayoral election. We have Vincent, manager of Cafe Diem. Fargo is his campaign manager so we can pretty much guarantee he’s not winning. Zoe’s teen genius boyfriend Lucas is courting the young vote. And of course, there’s a flamboyant scientist in the race, cloud specialist Dr. Herrera.
Herrera has learned how to sculpt clouds and even puts his face into one of them for a campaign ad? Is nothing sacred? Zane, Allison and Carter are determined to find out the secrets of The Fixer’s underground lab. Zane has 35 …read more
Tonight on Eureka: Here Come The Suns

Things get political on Eureka as there’s a mayoral election going on. I wonder if anyone in Eureka can give us a conclusive answer on whether global warming is caused by mankind or not.
Meanwhile, Zoe’s science partner creates a second sun. Which would cause the end of the Earth because – it would get really, really hot I would imagine. I passed a few high school science classes, baby.
And hopefully we’ll get back to Allison and Carter working through their problems. Last week Lexi had more of a romantic subplot going than those two.

Eureka Recap: Phased and Confused
September 11, 2008 by brian
As is often the case these days, things begin at Cafe Diem. Lexi is busy recycling the garbage while Fargo and Chuck, who’s in charge of Eureka’s recycling program fawn over her.
Lexi has convinced Zoe she should leave school for three days to go learn yoga. Sheriff Carter’s not having any of that nonsense, leaving Lexi and Zoe furious with him. Meanwhile, The Fixer Eva Thorne and Zane are breaking the code on her super-secret project. It turns out the cryptex opens a mountain fortress of some kind. I want a mountain fortress! Or not, can you imagine the …read more
Tonight on Eureka: Phased and Confused
There’s a new superhero in Eureka. What could go wrong? Well, in Eureka, the possibilities for what could go wrong are endless. The new guy makes things difficult for the man that really keeps Eureka safe, Sheriff Jack Carter. I also love the episode title.
And Carter will no doubt continue the awkward dance around his feelings for Allison. Having never been in such a situation, what is the ideal length of time you should wait before asking out a girl whose fiance disintegrated in the space-time continuum?

Eureka Recap: Show Me The Mummy
The teasers for this episode made it seem as if it would be more comedic, which would have been an interesting choice the week after Nathan Stark’s death. But Stark still loomed large in this one and the very episode’s resurrection theme makes me wonder if they aren’t already teasing his return.
Sheriff Carter begins his day by being subjected to his sister Lexi’s “new agey” ways. She’s playing some Egyptian-esque music she composed that will come into play later. It looks like they may be setting her up as a Carter for the original Carter, helping him see things …read more
Tonight on Eureka: Show Me The Mummy
August 26, 2008 by brian
Well, tonight seems like an episode full of comic potential, but with a major character being dead (we think) I am unsure how Eureka plays this. Tonight, The Fixer brings in a celebrity archeologist with a cursed Egyptian tomb. You know what an Egyptian tomb means in Eureka. This will probably also be the beginning of some awkward moments between Carter and Allison.

Eureka Recap: I Do Over
August 21, 2008 by brian
Folks, here’s the day Carter didn’t want to see take place: Alison’s wedding to Dr. Stark. And man, it seems like people are trying extra hard to drive the knife in. Stark asks Carter to be sure and bring Stark’s wedding gift for Alison, the necklace from last week’s episode. Of course, Alison and Carter have to work. The Fixer has decreed that 12 people need to be downsized to keep Global Dynamics in the black. Happy Wedding Day, Alison! You get to hand out pink slips to soon to be disgruntled employees, one of whom is certain to …read more
Tonight on Eureka: I Do – Over

What’s worse than watching the woman you love get ready to marry someone else? Having to watch it over and over again. Tonight Eureka pays homage to Groundhog Day as Carter is forced to live Allison’s wedding day over and over.
Now that’s torture, folks. Luckily, Eureka is a place where time travel could be used to fix things. We’ve already seen one alternate future where these two crazy kids figure it out. I can’t wait to see how the all-new, all-fun again Eureka solves this romantic triangle.

Eureka Recap: Best In Faux
Zoe is reluctant about signing up for an advanced physics course, but proud dad Sheriff Carter talks her into embracing her scientific side. Someday she’ll get to build things that endanger Eureka’s populace.
Carter his first intro to the world of biogenetic dogs when he meets Fifi, who explodes soon after their encounter. Fifi’s owner is convinced one of her rivals in the upcoming dog show is behind it. They take this robot dog show more than a little seriously, it seems. But when is there ever just one problem in Eureka?
A scientist who specializes in synthetic mucus is convinced one …read more
