Scream Award Nominees Announced
It’s time for the Scream Awards and several of our favorite sci-fi and paranormal shows have made the grade. Not our FAVORITE show, but we’ll forgive them since they did nominate Jensen Ackles’ My Bloody Valentine 3-D and Jared Padalecki’s Friday the 13th for Best Horror Movie. Jamie King was nominated for MBV 3-D but neither of the boys made the best actor cut. (I’m digging on that great Spanish poster with an actual cast photo on it! )
J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek movie got the most nominations, 17 in all including The Ultimate Scream, Best Science Fiction Movie, Best Director, …read more
Friday the 13th Star America Olivo Gets Down and Dirty
February 13, 2009 by Cynthia
Last summer, I interviewed America Olivo in regard to her role in the new movie Bitch Slap. Coincidentally, she had just come back from filming Friday the 13th. The story of how she got from one movie to the other is just one in a series of crazy good news/bad news events in her life going back to the time she had a record deal with Dreamworks (and then they folded) a pilot deal with UPN (just before they folded) and a trip to the Latin Grammy’s that consisted of her walking the red carpet, entering the building, leaving …read more
Jared Padalecki at Friday the 13th Premiere
February 10, 2009 by Cynthia
It was a dark and stormy night in Hollywood, just perfect for the premiere of Friday the 13th. Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki walked the red carpet at Grauman’s Chinese along with Danielle Panabaker, Amanda Righetti, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle and the man behind the mask, Derek Mears.
In this new take on the classic film, Jared plays Clay, a man in search of his sister who has gone missing while on a trip with her friends to Crystal Lake. He meets up with another group of potential victims and the slaughter begins (or should that be continues) as Jason arrives to …read more

January 22, 2009 by Cynthia
First it was Jensen Ackles in My Bloody Valentine 3-D. Now it’s time for the other Winchester Brother to make his mark in the slasher movie world. Supernatural star Jared Padalecki is busting out on the big screen with an all-new chapter in the Friday the 13th saga.
“I was in middle school when I saw the original “Friday The 13th” and I remember it scaring the life out of me,” laughs Jared Padalecki. “When I found out they were remaking the movie, I was very excited about getting involved.”
Here’s how the new movie lays out:

Jared Padalecki Talks About Friday the 13th
October 31, 2008 by Cynthia
If you look around the net today, you’ll find dozens of interviews and articles about the new Friday the 13th movie starring Jared Padalecki of Supernatural. Not to be outdone by all of them, I present to you some of my favorite quotes from the Friday panel at this past summer’s Comic Con.
It’s interesting to note, that unlike the fans who packed the house for the Supernatural panel, the Friday the 13th panel was not only light on attendees, even the ones that came weren’t easily swayed making for some awkward moments.
Jared and Derek Mears (Jason) did …read more
DS9’s Kira Joins Friday The 13th Cast
Image details: Star Trek Convention – Day 4 served by picapp.com
Nana Visitor, best known to sci-fi fans as Major Kira Nerys from the Star Trek spinoff Deep Space Nine, will appear in the Friday the 13th franchise reboot. Obsessed With Film said the news comes from the past weekend’s Starfest convention.
Visitor will play serial killer Jason Voorhies’ mother, Pamela, but don’t expect to see her for too long. They’ve taken a mold of her head, which she is apparently going to lose pretty early in the film. This revamp sounds radically different from the original Friday the 13th, in …read more
