James Marsters Takes on High Plains Invaders

A lone gunman stands at the end of a dusty, barren, western street. Across from him . . . a giant bug.
“This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.”
Actually, this town isn’t big enough for even one of them, if the one is a giant bug creature from outer space.
It’s High Plains Invader and it’s a Syfy original movie starring James Marsters and Cindy Sampson.
It’s the early 20th century, and this small western mining town is invaded by giant insectoid alien creatures whose only mission is to mine uranium to fuel their spaceship – but they’ll kill anyone …read more

Casting Coups: Marsters, Torres and More

I’m sure you’ve already heard about James Marsters joining the cast of Caprica but today I got the official press release and I adore the description of his character.
Marsters will play dangerous terrorist leader Barnabus Greeley. Driven by moralistic and yet carnal desires, this unpredictable villain is constantly torn by his conflicting motivations.
Sounds like a role he was born to play!
It’s funny, years ago, I interviewed James when he was just starting out on Buffy. I asked him what he loved most about playing the role of Spike and he said he loved that he could fight all …read more

PaleyFest Buffy Reunion Now on DVD

Every year, the Paley Center for Media presents The PaleyFestival, a grouping of panel discussions honoring the best that TV has to offer. They have a long history of paying tribute not just to the highest rated shows on TV, but to those who do things a little differently.
One of the first PaleyFest panels I ever saw was for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it was a terrific look inside the machine that made that show work.
A decade after the series premiere, (can you believe that!) the gang was reunited at the 2008 Paley Festival in front of a sell …read more

Marsters and Wise on Numb3rs Tonight

As if there wasn’t already enough on to watch tonight, Numb3rs (one of my favorite shows) has a couple of guest stars you might be interested in.
James Marsters (Buffy, Torchwood) and Ray Wise (Reaper) both put in appearances in an episode called “Guilt Trip,” about a case of jury tampering. (Marsters Photo behind the cut)

Freema Agyeman and Alan Dale Guest on Torchwood

First it was Buffy and now it’s Ugly Betty and Doctor Who!  Torchwood is bringing on the guest stars and it’s going to be great fun.  Here’s what BBC America has to say:

But has Torchwood underestimated how far the testing center’s director, Professor Copley (Alan Dale of …read more
