Of course, that meant she was The Person Who All the Evidence Points To Until The Law & Order Team Finds a Broad Reaching Conspiracy. You know the drill. Sackhoff didn’t have to stretch too much as the character was very Starbuck-ish. Great with guns, a martial arts expert and very aggressive. Oh, and she clashed with authority too.

If you happened to miss it don’t worry, NBC is making it perfectly clear they’re in the Sackhoff business. Sackhoff will star in Lost and Found, a project from Law and Order creator Dick Wolf. There was also her turn in NBC’s ill-fated Bionic Woman redo. Most critics and viewers considered the show a disaster but Sackhoff’s dedicated fanbase favored a reboot of the reboot starring her villainous character. Suffice it to say Sackhoff’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

We didn’t figure Katee Sackhoff would have any problem finding work after Battlestar, and she has landed a choice gig on a new Dick Wolf TV project. Zap2It tells us that BSG’s Starbuck will be the lead in Lost and Found, a detective show about a cop who ends up working John/Jane Doe cases after clashing with her superiors.

Hmm, Starbuck playing a brash maverick who has issues with authority? I think she can handle that role. But to join Lost and Found, Sackhoff will have to forego a planned stint on FX’s popular drama Nip/Tuck. Replacing Sackhoff on that show will be another actress with a  strong sci-fi/fantasy fanbase, Rose McGowan, seen most recently on TV in the WB’s Charmed, will replace Sackhoff in the role of Dr.Theodora “Teddy” Lowe. Fans of both shows will instantly realize that reunites McGowan with Julian McMahon, who played her sister’s love interest/Charmed Ones’ villain Cole Turner on Charmed.

Is your anticipation at fever pitch yet, Battlestar faithful? If not, you’re more than a little dead inside. Or perhaps you’re just a Cylon?

Sci Fi Channel is airing two half-hour specials tonight to get things ready. At 10 p.m. ET the network will air Battlestar Galactica: Revisited, recapping key events from the hit show’s first three seasons. As I mentioned earlier this week, I’m of the opinion every sci-fi show should do this. It gives new people a chance to jump on and not be totally lost, and helps whet the appetite of those that have been following since day one.

At 10:30 p.m. Sci Fi gives us Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon. Celebrities including country music star Brad Paisley and actor Seth Green will explain why they’re addicted to the show. Anyone who’s ever seen Paisley’s song “Online” or seen the video won’t be shocked by his Galactica-geekness. And Seth Green has given us Robot Chicken and starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer so we know he’s one of us. I’m anxious to see if there’s somebody in there that you would never peg for being a Galactica fan like Scarlett Johannsen or the like.

And yes, before you ask I do believe everything I see on television. I once talked to Scotty at a Star Trek convention and was shocked at his lack of knowledge about the Enterprise’s technical specs. But anyhow, I will participate in a conference call about Battlestar’s highly anticipated fourth and final season. It’s going to be wall-to-wall journalistas in there, so I put it to you SFUniverse readers. If you had one shot, one opportunity to ask Starbuck a question, what would it be? And no, I will not ask her if she will go out with you, Irving. So stop e-mailing me.

“I have no plans to leave Bionic Woman, and Michelle Ryan is doing a great job. There’s not one ounce of bad blood between us.”

That’s a quote from Katee Sackhoff in an interview she gave TVGuide where she squashes the recent rumor that she’s leaving the Bionic series. Sackhoff blames a fan who apparently misquoted her after seeing her at a recent Scifi convention. She says that she’s contracted to stay with the series for six years and she’d be happy to do so if they want her. Then she follows but saying, if they cut me, no problem.

Between the strike and Bionic Woman’s sinking ratings, Sackhoff may not have to worry about this rumor much longer. Her next statement is likely to be, “thanks to the cancellation of the series, I am available for work.”
