Yesterday, I spent the day on the set of the new ABC Family series Ruby & the Rockits. Despite the vaguely spacey name, this isn’t a sci fi series. It’s a family comedy loosely based on the lives of the Cassidy family — David, Shaun, Patrick, Ryan and even Katie!
As you may recall, Katie Cassidy, David’s daughter, was the original Ruby on Supernatural so it was really funny to hear that she was also the inspiration for the Ruby of the new series.

Here are a few things you might want to set your DVR to record:
Tonight is the Sci Fi CSI with Kate Vernon. That’s on CBS at 9:00. It’s called Space Oddity and if you watch close, you may see another familiar sci fi face — or two.

I found a couple of new photos of Supernatural stars Jim Beaver and Katie Cassidy in their new show Harper’s Island. The series, which will launch on CBS on April 9, is sort of a Friday the 13th for TV.
The story revolves around a group of friends and family members who go to the island to celebrate the wedding of Henry Dunn (Christopher Gorham) and heiress Trish Wellington (Katie).  Jim plays the local sheriff, so man will he have his hands full. It was CBS’s turn at the TCA’s and they brought out the cast of Harper’s Island including Supernatural’s Katie Cassidy. But have a look at this still from an upcoming episode. Next to Katie is Gina Holden who played Hailey in Wendigo.
He may not be pictured, but there’s one more Supernatural link out on Harper’s Island — that’s the sheriff who is played by none other than Bobby himself, Jim Beaver.
