We didn’t figure Katee Sackhoff would have any problem finding work after Battlestar, and she has landed a choice gig on a new Dick Wolf TV project. Zap2It tells us that BSG’s Starbuck will be the lead in Lost and Found, a detective show about a cop who ends up working John/Jane Doe cases after clashing with her superiors.
Hmm, Starbuck playing a brash maverick who has issues with authority? I think she can handle that role. But to join Lost and Found, Sackhoff will have to forego a planned stint on FX’s popular drama Nip/Tuck. Replacing [...]
Post from: SF Universe

Replacing Sackhoff on that show will be another actress with a strong sci-fi/fantasy fanbase, Rose McGowan, seen most recently on TV in the WB’s Charmed, will replace Sackhoff in the role of Dr.Theodora “Teddy” Lowe. Fans of both shows will instantly realize that reunites McGowan with Julian McMahon, who played her sister’s love interest/Charmed Ones’ villain Cole Turner on Charmed.

Someone stop the Robert Rodriguez/Rose McGowan tandem before they kill again. First they announced that McGowan will star as Barbarella in a remake of that cult classic, now USA Today is reporting that she’ll play Red Sonja in a revamp of that film.
Just say no, Hollywood, just say no. This is Brigitte Nielsen’s only claim to fame besides dating Flavor Flav. Can’t we let her have that much? Rodriguez is hoping this new Sonja becomes a film franchise, unlike the original. Rose, if this derails your career [...]
Post from: SF Universe

Remember the other day when you were clamoring for that Barbarella revamp? What’s that, you weren’t? Well, Geeks of Doom says Hollywood’s cranking it out anyway. It will come to us courtesy of the Robert Rodriguez/Rose McGowan “artistic pairing” that brought us Planet Terror.
Genre fans will remember McGowan best from the WB series Charmed in which she took Shannen Doherty’s place among the sister witches. She was good in that, I thought, but I don’t know how I feel about this movie. Yeah, I’ll go see McGowan [...]
Post from: SF Universe

Yeah, I’ll go see McGowan in the Barbarella costume (especially since she’s even dyed her hair blond to play the character originated by Jane Fonda) but I have no expectations it’s going to be good.

The possible actors’ strike could throw a wrench into this and a number of other projects though, so it might not be a good idea to hold your breath. Once we finally see McGowan in the Barbarella costume though, there will likely be a rash of breathlessness.
