eFX Releases McQuarrie Darth Vader Concept Helmet

eFX has done it again with this amazing new Star Wars collectible. It’s a Darth Vader Concept Helmet based on the production art Ralph McQuarrie prepared for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Jay Kushwara sculpted the piece which can be separated into three pieces and was affectionately dubbed “McVader” by developers at eFX.
“He’s captured the true sinister essence of the Darth Vader that Ralph McQuarrie envisioned in his original sketch,” said Bryan Ono, president of eFX.

TCM Lists the 15 Most Influential Film Soundtracks

In honor of tonight’s Grammy Awards, Turner Classic Movies has released a list of what they consider to be the 15 Most Influential Film Soundtracks. Four out of the fifteen films are scifi flicks including soundtracks by groundbreaking composers Bernard Herrmann and John Williams.

It wasn’t exactly a Winter Wonderland in LA this past weekend, but it was cold and rainy — the perfect weather for unveiling the dark and mysterious new Family Guy DVD “Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.”

Star Wars Celebration V Opens for Registration

It’s likely to be the biggest gathering of Star Wars fans on this planet. . .or any other. It’s Star Wars Celebration V commemorating the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.
The event is scheduled to take place August 12-15, 2010, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida but registration opens this Thursday, December 10 through the Star Wars Celebration website.
