Win Stargate Atlantis Fans’ Choice
August 5, 2009 by Cynthia
Stargate Atlantis fans, I’ve got a prize for you. I have one copy of Stargate Atlantis: Fans’ Choice on Blu-ray and I’m giving it to one of you.
If you’ll recall, some months ago, MGM asked fans to vote for their favorite Stargate Atlantis episodes for inclusion on this DVD. I don’t know if it was fate or more than a little nudging from a higher power but the two episodes that were chosen were the first and last of the series.
This Blu-ray disc includes the pilot episode, Rising and Enemy at the Gate and I imagine they look better than …read more

David Hewlett to Guest on The Closer
June 26, 2009 by Cynthia
Stargate Atlantis fans known him as Doctor Rodney McKay, the self-absorbed (but loveable) genius who helped keep Atlantis going strong. This week, David Hewlett takes on a entirely different character as he assumes the role of FBI Agent Jerry Moore in TNT’s police drama The Closer.
The episode, which airs Monday, June 29, is called “Walking Back the Cat.”
Brenda and her squad are temporarily deputized into the FBI when a missing person case turns into a full-blown murder investigation involving drug trafficking at gay dance parties. The case gives Brenda and Fritz the chance to work together again, but her …read more
Michael Shanks Charity Auction is Underway
June 9, 2009 by Cynthia
It’s that time of year again folks, time to reach into your wallet and bid on a cool scifi collectible in the name of charity. Stargate’s Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) is the man behind this yearly effort and the auction always features some really amazing items, like this autographed cap (see below for the list of signers). Other auction items include:
* Michael Shanks’ signed, personal “SG-1″ scripts (with hand-written notations), plus scripts and call sheets from his appearances on the USA …read more
Flanigan, Helfer Guest on Warehouse 13
May 28, 2009 by Cynthia
It’s going to be an all-star scifi summer on SCI FI Channel when some of your favorite stars pop up on the new dramedy adventure Warehouse 13.
Top of the list, Stargate Atlantis’ Joe Flanigan, Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica, and one of my personal faves, James Naughton who starred in the Planet of the Apes TV series, but is more commonly known for his role on Gossip Girl.
Warehouse 13 is the story of two Secret Service agents who are assigned to guard a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota which houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object …read more
Stargate Universe Gets Familiar Guest Stars
April 15, 2009 by Cynthia
Anyone familiar with the Stargate franchise knows that its an “all in the family” kind of production company. It’s very common to see, not only actors, but characters repeated across the various incarnations and it’s about to happen again. With Stargate Universe well into production, SCI FI Channel has announced a list of Stargate guest stars along with three new editions to the family.
– Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG1, Stargate Continuum, Stargate Atlantis) Anderson reprises his role as General O’Neil. O’Neil is the former leader of the elite military team SG-1.
– Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary, Stargate SG1, Stargate Continuum, Stargate …read more
Jericho Could Be Hot in the Right Hands
March 28, 2008 by brian
Riddle me this: When is a canceled show a potential lynchpin for a network? When that show is Jericho and the rumored bidders are the CW Network and the Sci Fi Channel.
The six million viewers that Jericho bowed out with March 25 wasn’t much to a network like CBS, but would be a huge boost to CW or Sci Fi. Sci-Fi has the most experience in this line of work, as they saved Sliders and Stargate when Fox and Showtime respectively gave up on them. Sliders never quite connected with its initial audience the same way. Stargate, however, went on …read more

Another season of Stargate Atlantis is coming to a close. There are only three more episodes left in the series before it’s adios Atlantians (at least for a few months as the fifth season is already in production).
It all starts with “The Kindred” Parts One and Two airing February 22 and 29.
A mystery illness wreaks havoc on humans across the Pegasus galaxy; Teyla’s vision about the father of her child prompts her to join Sheppard on a mission that yields an unexpected discovery. In Part Two Beckett’s return surprises the Atlantis crew. Elsewhere, Teyla, now …read more
Be My Scifi Valentine
February 14, 2008 by Cynthia
Here at SFUniverse we have connections! So we asked our spies to go sniffing around for interesting Valentine’s love letters. Have a look at what we found.
Stargate Atlantis
Rodney,
Even though I’m proficient in 46 different languages, I still cannot find the words to say how much I love you. Your tireless dedication to the betterment of mankind, your superior intellect, your sparkling wit — there isn’t another person alive or dead who could compare. You are my one and only, true soul mate. There is no one who understands me like you do.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Love,

Piccardo in, Tapping Out at Stargate Atlantis
Stargate Atlantis readies for production on its fifth season. My how time flies. It seems like only yesterday when Colonel Samantha Carter took over command of Atlantis and now she’s on her way out. With Amanda Tapping demoted to “special guest star” status, Robert Picardo will be moving in as top dog in the ancient city.
Richard Woolsey has often been a thorn in the side of Sheppard and the Atlantis team and I imagine he’ll continue to be, forcing our heroes to “adjust to his unique leadership style.” It worries me and not in a fictional sense. Piccardo has …read more
