]]> Christian Bale-nc Chud and Ain’t It Cool News are both reporting what could be a gigantic spoiler for the fourth Terminator installment. Please take this as a disclaimer to not read any further if you don’t care to have it spoiled, or if you have any love left for the franchise.

JOHN CONNOR IS A TERMINATOR?

Or at least he will be by the end of Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins according to these reports.

According to the rumor/spoiler Chud’s running with (and we have no real way to confirm this yet) the main character of the film is actually a cyborg named Marcus. He’s a criminal executed in 2003 and his body becomes the property of an organization involved with Skynet.

Marcus becomes a terminator with some human tissue including a beating heart. At some point near the end of the movie, hero John Connor (played by Christian Bale in this one) is killed fighting a T-800. The resistance figures they need an icon more than a martyr so they take John Connor’s skin and place it on Marcus’ body, making Marcus a robotic John Connor impersonator.

If any of this is true, I feel confident in saying this franchise is history. It’s so crazy though, it could very likely be one of those wild net rumors from time to time. Hollywood’s done dumber things though.
