McKellen to Reprise Gandalf Role

Ian McKellen has confirmed he will don his wizard’s garb again to play the role of Gandalf in upcoming movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Hobbit. McKellen told Empire Magazine Gandalf is not the kind of part you turn down.
Guillermo del Toro will direct two prequels to The Lord of the Rings trilogy with Peter Jackson executive producing. Filming is expected to start in 2009 with the first movie coming sometime in 2010 and the sequel in 2011.

Looking Back at 2007: Part One

Another year is at an end, so I thought I’d take a look back at some of the Sci Fi stories that made the news this past year. We lost a couple of the greatest Science Fiction authors, several classic Sci Fi shows and movies were remade and JJ Abrams was the man of the year with both Star Trek and Cloverfield rating high on the buzz meter.
