Heath Ledger Up For Golden Globe

                                    
The Golden Globes are sometimes a precursor of what will happen at the Oscars. Warner Bros. is watching now them very, very closely. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker earned a nomination for best supporting actor.
It was the only nomination for the year’s biggest film. Other nominees are Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise for Tropic Thunder, Ralph Fiennes for The Duchess and Phillip Seymour Hoffman for Doubt.

The Dark Knight Is Simply Brilliant

The term “comic book movie” can’t even be used in connection with The Dark Knight. While its characters may have originated between the pages of DC Comics, Christopher Nolan has forged a masterpiece that is a gritty crime drama, a study in human behavior and a knockdown, dragout action flick.

Ledger Gets Oscar Buzz for Dark Knight

Early reviews for The Dark Knight have been rave and critics are heaping nothing but superlatives on the late Heath Ledger for his portrayal of the Joker.
A growing swell of supporters including co-stars Christian Bale and Gary Oldman are talking posthumous Oscar for Ledger. If that happens, Ledger would be the first person so honored since Peter Finch in 1976 for Network.
