Now that I’ve seen all but the final episode of Torchwood: Children of Earth, I can understand the high praise that has been heaped upon the series. These last three days have gotten progressively more intense, more exciting and they hurt like heck. My only wish? That I hadn’t been spoiled for tonight’s big finish.

For months now, I’ve been hearing the hype about Torchwood Children of Earth. ‘Torchwood: Children of the Earth’: in a word? Awesome’, ‘Nothing seen from two seasons of Torchwood comes close,’ ‘As good as “Torchwood” has been, it’s never been this good.’
I gotta wonder, can the series actually live up to the hype? After watching Day One, I’m not so sure it can.
I wish I hadn’t gone into this with such high expectations – not that the show wasn’t entertaining or exciting, but there were moments where, frankly, I was bored, or worse annoyed.

What can you do in seven minutes? You can get even more excited about the upcoming Torchwood: Children of Earth which begins airing on BBC America on July 20.

On July 20th, BBC America will launch their new HD Channel with the premiere of Torchwood: Children of Earth. If you thought Torchwood looked great before, you won’t believe the scope of this new mini-series when shown in High Def.
The downside? We’re only getting five nights of Captain Jack and the gang this year and that pains me so.
