The Vampire Diaries: Fool Me Once

Stefan (Paul Wesley) helps Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Katerina Graham) out of a dangerous situation. Jeremy (Steve R. McQueen) asks Anna (guest star Malese Jow) to a party in the woods, unaware that she has her own reasons for wanting to meet him there.

When Stefan, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena work with Bonnie and Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy) to open the tomb, everyone is shocked by what they discover.

Tonight on Vampire Diaries and Supernatural

Thursday’s are killing me. In addition to the big Fringe winter finale, there’s also a huge episode of Supernatural and a great guest star on Vampire Diaries.

Looking back at the past seems to be the theme of the night. First up on Vampire Diaries: “Children of the Damned,” Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) recall the long-ago actions taken by townspeople including their father, Guiseppe Salvatore (guest star James Remar, “Dexter”), and Pearl (guest star Kelly Hu), leading to the devastating events that caused the rift in their relationship.

In the present, Bonnie’s (Katerina Graham) date with Ben (guest star Sean Faris) takes a frightening turn. Elena (Nina Dobrev) helps Stefan as he and Damon race to find the missing journal that belonged to Elena’s ancestor. Stefan learns the reason behind Alaric’s (Matt Davis) interest in both the journal and the town’s history. Damon discovers that an old acquaintance has returned to town with an agenda he understands. Then, we go back to the seventies to visit with a young John and Mary Winchester again in Supernatural: “The Song Remains the Same.” I got an early look at the episode, so you can click here to read that. Some spoilers, obviously, but I don’t give much away. What I didn’t mention there is that in addition to Anna, John and Mary, another old friend pays Sam and Dean a visit. . . There are so many great shows on Thursday nights, I thought I’d post Vampire Diaries a day early so you can enjoy the pics and vids ahead of time.

As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) try to figure out the identity of the new vampire in town, Stefan gives Elena (Nina Dobrev) jewelry filled with Vervain to protect her family and friends. Hurting for money, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes a job at the Mystic Grill, where former high school football star Ben (guest star Sean Faris, “Never Back Down”) works as a bartender. Ben comes to Bonnie’s (Katerina Graham) aid when he notices Damon is bothering her. Damon and Stefan accompany Elena to a school dance with a 1950s’ theme, where Alaric (guest star Matt Davis) introduces himself to Damon. Steven R. McQueen and Sara Canning also star. Liz Friedlander directed the episode written by Barbie Kligman & Brian Young (#111).

Tonight: All New Supernatural and Vampire Diaries

Feels like weeks since we’ve had new episodes of Supernatural and Vampire Diaries, doesn’t it. . . ?

Tonight, both sets of brothers are back in business with the first of a line-up of all new episodes.

It begins at 8:00 with Vampire Diaries: Bloodlines

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) takes a trip to Georgia, where he surprises an old flame, Bree (guest star Gina Torres of Firefly) and enlists her help to figure out how to open the tomb. In the process, Damon comes face to face with someone who is determined to make him pay for past wrongs. Stefan (Paul Wesley) opens up to Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy) in his effort to help Bonnie (Katarina Graham) overcome her fears and accept her powers. When Damon returns from Georgia, Stefan is waiting with news that will change their world

Next, at 9:00 it’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Supernatural style. It’s called Sam, Interrupted and sadly there have been no photos released for this episode, just videos which you can see here.

A former hunter named Martin (guest star), who is currently institutionalized, calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help investigating a case in the mental hospital. The brothers get themselves admitted as patients to check out the mysterious monster that is attacking the patients, but their incarceration pushes both to the breaking point as they unleash their inner demons against each other.

The Vampire Diaries Cast at the CW Cocktail Party

As I mentioned earlier, The CW had a cocktail party at the end of their TCA presentation over the weekend. The cast of the Vampire Diaries was in attendance and if you look close at the one photo you can see an interesting Supernatural poster in the background.

The Vampire Diaries at TCA’s

Yesterday, CBS and The CW presented their mid-season line-up to the press at the TCA’s (Television Critics Association). Sadly, I was not in attendance, but if you keep an eye on EW.com or Zap2it.com, you’ll find plenty of coverage of the entire event.

Even though it’s not a midseason show, The CW brought the cast of Vampire Diaries back to LA for a panel on the series. Zap2it has details with lots of spoilers – so beware if you click through. The LATimes Blog also has a write up.

I hear that The CW also had a “Bloody Mary” Cocktail Party after the event but I haven’t seen any photos yet. If you’ve spotted them on the web, let us know in the comments below.
